You probably also realise the importance of using social media tools to spread the word about your property.

Google+ may be a young social media site at the moment, but many businesses are already making the most of what it has to offer. Here are 5 tips on how to use it for your holiday let business.

Set up a Google+ business page

Google+ has pages that are specifically designed for businesses, so grab one of these and use it to promote and share information about your holiday rental. Google will index your page and give you greater visibility in its own search engine.

Make use of different methods to share your information

One of the big advantages of Google+ is the ability you have to upload different forms of data to your stream. For example you can post a comment, add a photo and even post a video for people to watch. This gives you a lot of possibilities and lots of ways to engage with people who like receiving information in different ways.

Making the most of Google+ Circles

You may know that Google+ allows you to have different circles of people. so for example if you invite people who have already stayed in your holiday rental property to follow you on Google+, you can put these people in one Circle. Anyone else who follows with an interest in your property can go in another Circle. This allows you to send messages and content tailored towards previous guests and people you haven’t had contact with before.

Getting personal

When you use Google+ people can respond to the posts and updates you have added to your stream. Don’t forget you can reply too! You shouldn’t see Google+ as a place where you can tell the world about your holiday let and not engage with the world in return. The more you work at sharing and connecting with people, the better the results will be.

Don’t forget, the next person who comments on your posts or some aspect of your holiday let could be considering staying there. Even if that wasn’t their intention when they started following your updates, it could turn out that way. So make sure you make the most of all the opportunities Google+ gives you.

Regular updates

This is essential. Don’t use it every ten minutes for a couple of days and then fall off the face of the earth. Stay connected – keep people interested. Get them involved and show them what your holiday let is all about. Take photos of the gorgeous hanging baskets you added to the property today. Show them the view from the bedroom window a couple of months back when everything was covered in snow. This is subtle – it’s not selling but it is, if you see what I mean.

Google+ is ideal for just this kind of approach – so make sure you make the most of it.

If you own a holiday rental property you should know how important it is to connect with people and to promote it in as many ways as possible.
