Boy, was I pleased to discover PromoteMyPlace! My old hosting service no longer supported "my kind of website", just at a time when I really didn´t need any new projects.
Trawling through the internet to find an alternative, looking at starting again from scratch, new hosting, which website system, and, like an oasis in the desert, there appeared PromoteMyPlace! What a fantastic find!
This system has made the change so easy; and they really have thought of everything you could need to promote your property effectively online, from payment systems to handling bookings, automated emails, importing and exporting calendars, multilingual, SEO, much better than anything I could have created and I didn´t have to think about how to create any of it.
My website was created at a very reasonable price (taking up the offer of the PMP team creating it for me), within the cited 10 days, saving lots of time and headspace.
Once done, the PromoteMyPlace system is very intuitive and so it is easy to adjust things if you feel the need.
If you do get stuck, the customer support is excellent, very clear, timely and also very patient. There are also good "how-tos" within the system which are also worth reading through but even then, if you still need help or clarification, the support will never fail you.
They are open to ideas and making small adjustments if possible, I was really quite amazed how open they are, obviously within reason, but even so, pretty much unheard of in the website development world, especially within a package.
Sarah and Kayleigh have been fantastic, as has the team behind them. I can´t recommend PromoteMyPlace highly enough if you are in the hotel or holiday let business.

I am really impressed with how easy it was to create my own website using PromoteMyPlace. Once I had my photos saved and written content created, I simply followed the steps as outlined in the My Website section, it was that easy!….and if there was anything I was unsure about, I easily found the answer in the ‘How to?'… or 'FAQ’ section of the Support tab. The Preview function is invaluable as it enables you to view your content as you are creating it, and amend/change/save as necessary. I’d say I was 90% completed within 1 day, and spent another half day proofreading, editing, updating etc until I felt I was ready to ‘publish'. I then bought my own domain name and bespoke email address and the trickiest aspect was linking the email (but that was because of the GoDaddy site was slightly different to the instructions as opposed to anything at the PMP end) - changing to my own domain name was quick and easy! I am still setting up the reservations functionality so have not fully tested that out yet, but from what I can see it should be straightforward and I intend to link the availability calendar to a third party booking site.

As an aside, I’d say my level of technical expertise is moderate (having worked in an office environment for 30 years), however, I have never attempted anything like this and was pleasantly surprised how intuitive the whole process was. I am particularly impressed with how easy it is to make ongoing changes and edits which go live instantaneously. I have now been ‘published’ for just over a week and have received so many comments from friends, family and future guests on how professional my website looks.

I'd been looking to build my own website for my Whitby apartment but when I'd tried to build websites in the past they always seemed amateurish. Probably because I didn't dedicate the time or pay someone to resolve some of the formatting issues etc. I experienced with the likes of WordPress.

I found PromoteMyPlace by chance one afternoon when I was desperately looking for help in putting a website together for our holiday cottage. Our old website for a previous property had to be built for us by someone else, at great expense (and time and effort) about eight years ago - but since then I'd seen many advertisements for do-it-yourself sites.

"It surely can't be all that difficult to do", I thought, when it came time to change properties and build a new website. But it was so confusing.
