3 Ways to Recycle Content on Social Media Sites

Looking to find ways to share information across your social media accounts easily?

Want to save time working on your social media sites?

Then it’s time to start recycling.

Now you’re may be wondering how recycling can possibly relate to your social networking efforts.

Well it can.

Recycling isn’t just for tangible things. It can work when it comes to your social media content too – if it’s done properly.

Here are some ideas for recycling and promoting your holiday rental at the same time.

1. Recycle and repost ideas across several social media sites

Most businesses have more than one social profile online today.

Let’s say you’re on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Every time you post a message or update on one, you should make a point of recycling that same update on your other profiles too.

But a good tip here is to make sure you change the wording a bit first, to make it unique. You can use the same photo across more than one site but change the caption or message you put with it.

2. Recycle by sharing relevant posts by other people

Your primary aim when using social media sites is undoubtedly to promote your holiday rental property.

However it can actually backfire on your to do this all the time.

People will recognise it as shameless self-promotion and they’ll probably stop following you quite as readily as a result.

The trick is to make sure your account is well-balanced, and one way to do that is to share information from other people that are not in direct competition with you.

For instance let’s say you have a holiday let in Wales. You could share a post relating information from the local tourist board. They will offer information about places to go, but won’t be directly offering accommodation that could compete with yours.

The upshot of this is that they might actually acknowledge your share and start following your account too – especially as you are relevant to their topic area.

Which means you can increase your reach and your followers for your holiday let, all through a little bit of easy recycling.

You’ll also give your followers worthwhile information without expecting anything back, and this can turn them into more dedicated followers. In fact, just the type of people who might choose to book your holiday rental for their next break.

3. Recycle your most successful posts by using that concept again and again

Let’s say you shared a post about the top three villages worth visiting near your holiday let. This post was viewed hundreds of times, shared among others and generally received a good response.

So why not recycle that idea and use it again?

You can use it on other social media sites as we mentioned above. But you can also alter the idea to recycle it that way.

Think of top three towns nearby, top three attractions, top three unusual things to do without spending money… you get the idea.

What could you start doing today to make the most of the content you provide and create even more interest for your followers?

Oh and don’t forget, this will actually make your life easier. By recycling, you don’t have to find new ideas each and every time.
