Have You Made Any New Year Resolutions for Your Holiday Let Blog?

Another new year is with us, and that means resolutions for many. If you’ve made some, are you sticking with them? Moreover, have you made any that relate to your holiday let blog?

If not, it’s not too late to start. You can achieve many things this year with your holiday rental blog and social media efforts. If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve provided a few suggestions below.

Post more regularly

How often did you add content to your blog in 2016? Could you improve on that in 2017? If you did post regularly, what could you do to improve further? Maybe mix up the length of your posts and see which ones performed best last year, to inspire further content this year.

Use more photos

Are you neglecting visual content? People respond to great photos. They can trigger emotional responses. Get it right and you could inspire more people to enquire about booking. Don’t forget to include pics of nearby attractions and events as well as those featuring your holiday property.

Balance words and pictures

Ideally, you want a good mix of words and pictures – on your blog and on your social media pages. Try and ensure every post has at least one photo or other image to represent it.

Look over your blog monthly (at least)

Staying in touch with your blog is a great idea. By this, we mean taking a quick look at it to see whether anything (good or bad) pops out at you.

Get onto social media more often

Start by creating a schedule if you don’t already have one. Every time you post something new on your holiday rental blog, add an update to each social media site you are active on.

Focus on seasons and special events

Valentine’s Day, Easter, school holidays, and any events specific to the area where your holiday let property is located. All these can inspire special deals, blog posts and other material that might inspire people to make a booking.

Check your content before you publish it

This gives you a chance to improve on it before it is unleashed for the world at large to see. If you rarely edit, make this the year you start. It could make a huge difference to the quality of your content and attract more followers too.

What will you do this year that you didn’t last year?

Maybe you’ve thought of something else you could do that isn’t on the list above. Perhaps something inspired you to try something different. Or maybe you’ve chosen one or two of the above items to tackle this year.

Whatever you do, make sure you start 2017 as you mean to go on. If you want to reach the end of this year with more bookings and greater success than you achieved last year, it is within your grasp.

What will you do to boost the success of your holiday let in 2017?
