There are all kinds of reasons why, as someone with a business interest, you should have a strong presence on various social media sites.
Does your holiday let have a Facebook page yet?
How about a Twitter account or a Pinterest page?
It’s important to note that having these things is only the beginning. The real target to hit involves interacting with your audience (not to mention building that audience in the first place of course).
So let’s take a look at why you need to pay proper attention to how you’re interacting with people.
1) Your holiday rental property is a brand – and social media helps to develop it
I know, when you think of a brand you think of a major name – Coca Cola, Nike, Samsung …
In truth though, your business is a brand too.
It doesn’t matter whether you own just one holiday rental property or you have several all marketed under the same website.
In each case you should be promoting that brand and develop it by engaging with people who start following you in your chosen social media channels.
2) It provides a big opportunity to connect with your audience
When people take the time to follow your Twitter feed or Facebook page, they’re expressing an interest in you and your holiday let.
You never know what that might mean … they may seriously be considering making a booking with you, or if they like your page enough they may share it with others who may be interested in making a booking.
Click-through rates don’t count for everything, but the amount of free marketing you could get as word of your social media accounts spreads could do your holiday let wonders in the long run.
Connecting with your audience means engaging with them and responding to them on a regular basis.
This can also create better brand loyalty – which in this case will mean more people wanting to find out more about your holiday let.
3) You can generate more interest in your holiday rental
Whether you run competitions or quizzes, or simply engage with your audience in as many ways as possible, your holiday rental stands to benefit in the end.
Some people may initially be curious about where your rental is. Over time they’ll learn more about the area and perhaps seriously consider making a booking.
That won’t happen if you don’t work to interact with as many people as possible from the very start though.
As such, every follower and every interaction represents a potential opportunity to be enjoyed.
You never know where any of them will take you; however over time you will grow an audience on various social media sites that will increase the chances of growing your income from your holiday rental as well.
Now doesn’t that sound like something worth trying to achieve?
