It might sound rude at first glance, but the reality is you’ll get far better results from your holiday let website if you guide your visitors in what you want them to do.
The power of the call to action link
A call to action is designed to encourage your visitors to perform a specific action. For example you may want them to click through to another page to read more about the advantages of staying in your holiday rental. You may want them to check the availability of your rental so they can plan for their forthcoming holiday. But you definitely want them to contact you to make an enquiry. There are lots of other examples you can probably think of as well.
Some people feel shy about doing this. They feel they’re pushing their wishes onto the visitor. “Do this, do that, go there!” But in reality you’re not doing that – you’re guiding them along and helping them get the most from your website.
Consider this. Let’s say someone arrives on your home page and starts browsing, looking at what you have to offer. They might even be interested in making a booking. But if they can’t find the way to the pages they want to read, they might give up and leave, only to make a booking elsewhere.
In truth it doesn’t matter how well designed your website is. You’ll be missing a trick if you don’t include calls to action wherever necessary. You’re not being pushy – you’re showing people how helpful you are in ensuring they’re getting the details they want.
What is the most important call to action to use?
The most important one of all for any holiday rental website is to make an enquiry. If people look at the pictures of your holiday let and read the content you’ve provided and they like what they see, they could well consider making an enquiry or a booking.
You should have an enquiry or booking form on a dedicated page, of course. But you need to let people know where this is. YOU know where it is, but if they don’t happen to see the link to it straightaway, they may not find it. Furthermore, they may actually be more tempted to enquire about availability if you suggest this to them on every page.
Did we say every page? Yes we did. You want to get bookings for your holiday let so you need to make it as easy as possible for people to book or enquire about renting the holiday let for a few days or longer.
All you need to do is add a call to action link or button to every page, so people can click on it and go to the appropriate section of your website. The location of this link could vary depending on the page – in some cases it might work best buried in the content itself, almost as if it were another photo.
Experiment with different calls to action and placements to be sure of getting the highest possible booking rate for your website. You’ll be glad you did.

You can either do it using an image for the button or using HTML code. If you contact support we can help you with this.
