The Advantages of Using a Tripod to Help Take Amazing Photos

How do you take photos for your holiday rental website? Do you simply hold your camera, point it in the right direction and click without too much consideration to how the shot will come out?

If so, you’re certainly not alone.

However, you may well be able to take much better photos if you invest in a tripod. They’re not expensive, either – you can buy one for around £13 complete with a storage bag on one very well-known website.

But you may still be wondering why you should get one.

That’s fair enough – and it’s why we have put together a number of good reasons for you.

1 It prevents you from getting blurry photos

You may know you should keep your elbows tucked into your body when taking a photo, as it helps to reduce camera shake.

However, even with a modern camera that helps to adjust for shaking, there is nothing better than a tripod.

2 It leads to much better pictures in low light conditions

If there isn’t much light around when you take your photos – maybe you want a photo of that impressive sunset at your holiday let – you will need a slower shutter speed.

That means there is even more chance of getting blurred photos, because you will need to hold the camera steady for that much longer.

A tripod helps resolve this issue.

3 It allows you to frame your subject and then adjust the setting if need be

Here’s a scenario to consider – let’s say you have set up the table and chairs on the patio area of your holiday rental property, so you can take a nice photo to include on your website.

You look through the lens but it doesn’t quite look right.

So you put the camera down and go and adjust things.

Then you pick the camera up again, check how it looks, trying to get the same angle you had before, and…

You get the picture.

With a tripod, you can position the tripod and the camera exactly how you want to.

You can then leave them in place while you make those minor adjustments. All you have to do is look through the viewfinder each time to make sure you like what you see.

You won’t lose that perfect position you had where the light was just right and the view was perfect.

Invest in a tripod and see your photography benefit from it

As you can see, a tripod could be a far more useful piece of kit than you may have thought.

Since it doesn’t have to cost much to get one, you would be well-advised to invest in it today. You will find all kinds of situations where it will come in useful, especially when you want to improve the photos you are taking of your holiday let.

And of course, you can also venture out and take some stunning photos of the surrounding area.

What better way could there be to entice people to come and stay?
