Does Your Personality Shine Through When Creating Your Website Content?

We’ve all discovered websites peppered with content that is dull and boring to read, and persuades us to do nothing more than abandon the site for a better one. If you have a holiday rental and are writing website content to promote it, have you ever considered whether it makes you stand out? Does it do the job of engaging your visitors – or will it send them elsewhere?

It’s not good to copy other people

Obviously you shouldn’t copy any web content word for word. But you shouldn’t look at what your competitors are doing and automatically go for the same tone either. You’re an individual, remember? You have the opportunity to put a little heart and soul into the content you write for your website, so why shouldn’t you do it? Why not perk up your holiday rental listing and see if you can stand out from the crowd as you do so?

With so many holiday rentals online today, all vying for the attention of people who are looking to book a holiday, it makes sense to attract attention in your own unique way.

No need for formality

When you’re writing content for your listing or website, it’s tempting to be formal just like every other holiday let owner would be in the same situation. However there’s no need for this. Everyone has their own style and tone of voice. You can use yours to help you stand head and shoulders above the competition and attract more attention to your holiday rental.

It’s this injection of personality that has the power to keep people on your website instead of sending them elsewhere. People will scan the information you give to see if it interests them. If you can catch their attention with some quirky writing that has a real injection of your character, you might be surprised how much it stands out.

Of course you need to make sure you don’t just waffle on and talk about nothing in particular. You need to ensure you know what you are writing about and what needs to be included. For instance when you are writing about where your property is located, you have to think about pertinent bits of information to include. You’re still free to write in your own style but you can use that style to share the relevant information with anyone who looks at your listing or visits your site.

If you already have a website or listings online for your holiday rental, take a moment to read through them again to see whether you can inject some new life into them – your life and personality. Once you’ve found your voice you might find your potential customers love to hear it!
