You don’t need to go too far on Pinterest at this time of year to come across festive photos of all shapes and sizes.
And your Pinterest profile shouldn’t be left out. You can still enjoy plenty of visibility for your holiday rental, with the added bonus of potentially increasing your website traffic by thinking more creatively at this time of year.
Use festive colours
People are online in their droves at this time of year looking for ideas for festive decorations and so on. Just because your main aim is to promote your holiday let, it doesn’t mean you can’t still provide ideas in this area.
Why not include lots of festive colours yourself – think reds, greens, silver and gold for example.
If you decorate your holiday rental property for the holiday season (and if you’re receiving guests you really should) make sure you add photos of it to your Pinterest account.
You never know, you may inspire people to use your ideas. Or, even better, you may give them the push they need to think about spending Christmas away from home…
Promote festive deals
Some people love nothing better than to escape the normal hustle and bustle of the festive season.
You can appeal to this market by using your seasonal pictures to help promote special deals for the festive season. This is even more worthwhile if you still have vacancies for the upcoming weeks.
Your holiday rental photos can be particularly powerful here.
If you do intend to dress your holiday let in a festive manner, make sure you take the time to capture a few shots and upload them to Pinterest.
Depending on how many pictures you have, you could upload perhaps two or three a day over a period of a week or so.
Keep up the visual element and make the most of unusual angles and colour combinations.
Remember – close-ups can work just as well, if not better than photos taken from a distance, where the detail doesn’t show up as well.
Look for local events
Many areas now offer Christmas markets and other festive events in the run-up to Christmas. Find out what’s going on near your holiday let and use these as inspiration for posting more updates to your Pinterest pages.
You could mention your holiday rental property and perhaps even link to a blog post about each local event that will be taking place.
This provides yet another way to connect with people, while providing useful information they can use if they are in the area.
Look to the New Year
There will always be people who are looking to stave off the January blues, even before Christmas comes along.
Market to these people as well.
Offer a January special deal, and use some winter-themed photos to help get them in the mood for what they can expect when they arrive.
By doing this you can be sure to capture the audience looking for festive inspiration. And the possibility of encouraging them to book a festive getaway, or something for the New Year instead!
