Your blog has the power to help bring people to your holiday let website.
No matter where your holiday let is, or what kind of audience you’re trying to connect with, you can reach them via well-written and enticing blog posts.
There are two main types of posts you can add to your blog.
The first is a newsworthy one.
This encompasses local events and other similar items holidaymakers might be interested in learning about. If a castle in the local area is putting on a summer of special events, let your potential guests know about it.
The second is a timeless post.
This basically refers to a post that will be interesting and useful to your holiday let guests and potential bookers, regardless of whether they read it today, next week or next year.
A good example would be a post revealing the birds that regularly make their way back to your local area every year at around the same time. And I’m sure there are plenty of other regular happenings that you could mention of a similar nature.
Why choose timeless posts?
These posts are valuable because they’ve got appeal regardless of the time of year they’re being read.
If you choose the subjects carefully, they can provide strong reasons for people to consider booking your holiday rental property at some point in the future.
There’s no doubt news-related posts are valuable too, but generally just in the short term.
If you want to appeal to people whenever they visit your website, timeless posts should form a key part of your blogging strategy.
Timeless doesn’t mean they can’t be related to a specific time period
This is important to understand.
Let’s go back to the example above related to birds flying back to a certain area every single year. If they fly back in September, you could say it was newsworthy for that month. Yet because it happens annually, it’s a reliable event that some people would plan their holiday around.
Timeless posts will attract attention this year, next year and every year to come.
Think about different topics to focus on
With some thought, there are all kinds of ideas that can be used as timeless posts.
Think about your holiday rental, the type of property it is, where it is located, and so on. These elements will help you put together a list of timeless topics to work with.
Once you have an idea, write your article, then start scheduling them in to dispatch on a specific date. This is also a great way to keep your blog regular, packed full of valuable, shareable content.
Try starting off with one article per month.
Then once you get the hang of finding and selecting strong ideas, the process will get easier and you can do it more often.
If you need ideas, look at a few blogs that help promote other holiday lets, so you can see how it’s done. Before you know it, you’ll be sharing powerful and timeless posts on a regular basis.
Hi there, we seem to get a lot of “ideas” to help us with our Blogs, but there isnt a Blog included within the package so I am presuming we would have to get another provider to supply us with the facilities to creat a Blog ? and then try and link it to our website ???..
We do have a blog functionality that can be added to your PromoteMyPlace account Peter. You simply need to contact our support team and ask them to activate it.
