Improvements for Multi Property Home Owners and Holiday Rental Agents
After weeks of development and testing we’re delighted to announce our latest functionality update, offering customers with multiple properties, plus holiday rental agents, the ability to display their websites in a “listing style” format, much like HomeAway and the other big listing sites.
So that you can have a look at what all the excitement is about, we’ve created an example multi-property website in the new format here – http://devoncottages.promotemyplace.com/
Obviously this is just one example. As always there are lots of configuration options including whether or not to include the search box in the header.
Switching to the new multi property format
If you have an existing multi-property website and you want to make the switch you simple need to log in to your account, go into Website Basics and change the ‘Format for your Multi Property Website’ to ‘Listing format’ – easy!
We’ve tried to keep this as straight forward as possible with minimal added work for you, but try as we might, there are still just a couple of areas where you will be required to add information if you choose to move your multi property website to the new format:
- Default Image – this will be displayed on the list page and can be selected from existing images within your image manager.
- No. the property sleeps – this is used on the list page and property search widget (if added).
- Group size – maximum number of people the accommodation sleeps, again will be used on the list page and property search widget (if added).
- Accommodation summary – a short description which will be shown on the list page.
- And don’t forget to remove any existing main menu pages that are now redundant!
We’ve done lots of testing and ironed out a lot of issues over the last few weeks, but if you spot any problems, please let us know and we’ll fix them as a matter of priority.
What’s next?
We’re now busy working on a second phase development which will allow the addition of filter options down the right hand side of the listing page – just another little enhancement to make it easier for your customers to find their ideal holiday accommodation!
New Pinterest Widget
We’ve added a new widget to support Pinterest, now one of the most popular social networks online. The new widget allows your website visitors to “Pin” your holiday rental website to Pinterest without leaving your site. For those of you that don’t know what Pinterest is, or how it can help you with your online marketing, see our recent blog post – Why Pinterest is a Great Tool for Marketing Holiday Rental Websites.
We’ve also added Pinterest to the Social Network Page Links Widget, for those of you that want to link your Pinterest pages to your website and make it easy for people to “follow” you.
Thank you!
Finally, thanks so much for your suggestions, feedback and testimonials; it helps us to ensure we continue to offer you the tools you need to build great websites to promote your holiday rentals. As always please continue to forward any suggestions you may have for future enhancements.
Wishing you all plenty of bookings for the future.
