We recently released some updates to our image upload functionality after a couple of customers notified us that they were experiencing difficulty uploading their holiday rental images.
If you are currently having difficulty uploading images to your holiday rental website, it’s likely to be a simple caching issue with your internet browser, so you will need to clear your browser cache and try again.

Images taking a long time to upload?
As you know it’s important to make sure your holiday rental images are the best possible quality. The PromoteMyPlace system allows you to upload an image up to 4MB, however it’s really not necessary to upload images of this size. Firstly it will take much longer for the images to upload and secondly there’s a chance they may not upload fully, because your internet connection may time out. Therefore please see our recommended photo image sizes below.
Guidelines for recommended photo image size:
Header Photos:
These should be reduced to 1000 pixels wide before uploading. Make sure the program you are using constrains proportions and the height will be worked out automatically.
Page Photos:
These should be a maximum of 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels in height, before uploading.
So if the picture is in landscape format make the width 800 pixels and let the program you are using work out what the height should be based on this.
If the picture is portrait format, make the height 600 pixels and let the program work out what the width should be based on this.
Re-sizing your images:
Re-sizing your images before uploading them to your website will save time on upload and download speeds.
IMPORTANT: We suggest re-saving the images in a new folder with different file names from the originals, so that you don’t accidentally overwrite the originals. You will most likely want to keep these for other purposes. At the very least we suggest you make a backup of the originals in a different folder before re-sizing.
